Majestic Rani Dah Waterfall Jashpur Chhattisgarh

Rani Dah Waterfall is located in the Jashpur district of Chhattisgarh state. It is about 15 kilometers from the district headquarters, nestled amidst dense forests. Just like most waterfalls have a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva nearby, there is also a Shiva temple near this waterfall.

Ranidah waterfall splits into two to three separate streams that cascade over large rocks into a vast pool, creating a stunning scene. To enjoy the beauty of this waterfall, the district administration has set up several viewpoints.

Additionally, for the safety of tourists, stairs have been constructed. After descending these steps, the magnificent view of Rani Dah will captivate your heart. The waterfall is at its most ferocious during the monsoon season, but you can visit it in any season.

There was a queen of Odisha named Shiromani who fell in love with a young man and wanted to marry him. However, her father and five brothers were against this love affair. Consequently, the queen fled from her kingdom and reached the Jashpur area, with her five brothers pursuing her.

The queen was determined not to marry anyone other than her lover, so she jumped into a gorge near the Rani Dah waterfall and took her own life. After her death, people named the waterfall Rani Dah waterfall Jashpur.

Even today, you can see the queen's memorial here. Besides this, there is a place near the waterfall called Panch Bhaiya, which consists of five stones. These five stones were considered Queen Shiromani's brothers, who were turned into rocks due to their accuracy.
